This board is cut from a single slab of premium spalted maple, and finished by hand to bring out the natural curl and pattern in the wood. Every inch of this piece is shaped, sanded, and oiled for food-safe use.

Most commercially available boards are sanded to 220 or 320 grit. I personally sand each of mine to 1,000 or 1,500 grit, making them glass smooth and really bringing out the figure and grain.
